Doctoral candidate networks

An important task of the Graduate School is to promote the sharing of expertise between doctoral candidates. The doctoral candidate networks are subject specific working groups which encourage networking between doctoral candidates.

These self-managed networks are co-ordinated by doctoral candidates which encourages an active involvement in shaping and directing their working community. Importantly, the networks provide a platform where expertise can be exchanged on the same level and all topics related to the doctoral degree can be discussed openly. Doctoral candidates are welcome and encouraged to discuss and present their own research and publish findings for discussions. This provides an excellent opportunity for doctoral candidates to practice presentations for conferences, to prepare themselves for the oral examination or to get new ideas for further work on their theses.

The Graduate School supports the establishment and development of the doctoral candidate networks and their work organizationally and financially. Basically every idea can be supported which is related to the purpose of the network and serves the professional discourse, for example colloquia, guest presentations, panel discussions and workshops.
